Creating “The Matrix”

I might sound crazy, but I believe TikTok has created the beta version of “The Matrix.” In the movie, intelligent machines developed the Matrix to keep the human mind and body operational, allowing them to harvest them for electricity continuously. Kidding aside, With the amount of screen time people spend on TikTok, myself included, it’s obvious they have created an App that is superb at keeping the modern-day mind occupied and entertained. As mentioned, TikTok allows users to “free associate,” enabling them to find their perfect content continuously. They have accomplished this by creating a machine learning “experience-first” algorithm to guide us in this free association and constantly learn what we like best. An algorithm that prioritizes the user’s overall experience on the platform when deciding what content to display, focusing on factors like engagement, relevance, and positive interactions. An algorithm that can be more dynamic and even capable of tracking changes in users’ preferences and interests across time, going as granular as what a user may like during a specific period during the day. This “experience-first” algorithm that uses a singular focus interface enables it to learn about user preferences faster and more concisely than other social media platforms. By emulating TikTok’s singular focus interface and “experience-first” algorithm to achieve matrix-like qualities, OShorty can be just as successful, regain the lost market share, and be the heir apparent to TikTok.
